“Life Together”
1 Peter

Way back in the fall of 1948, Pastor Daryl Meyer, the founding pastor of Holy Cross, explained the purpose of Bible study in a bulletin announcement. He said,

“This group needs YOU to be a success! We never graduate past the age of learning more of God’s Word. We all need Bible Study to grow in faith – to be certain and sure of our Christian teachings – to tell truth from error – to be able to give an answer of our faith when asked – to obtain guidance in the problems of our lives. This is YOUR class!”

In that spirit we are pleased to offer a Bible study based on 1 Peter called “Life Together.” We will talk about what it means to be a congregation, how we love and serve those in our communities while struggling against the world's influence. Our churches, too, should be welcoming places to non-believers who are looking for integrity, relevance, and a commitment to God's truth.

The Bible study first four sessions include videos by Rev. Dr. Dale Meyer speaker Emeritus of The Lutheran Hour. The Life Together 1 Peter Workbook (pdf) contains readings and questions for all six sessions and can be downloaded or printed.

Session 1 – “Who Are We” 1 Peter 1:1-2
Session 6 – “The Flock and the Shepherd” 1 Peter 4:1-11
